As one of the first EcoVillage designs in the Philippines, Maia Earth was found in 2012 and since then has been studying and applying whole systems thinking towards community building and implementing circular programs in Palawan and other areas of the country.

As the asian representative in the Global Ecovillage Network and co-founders of the Ecobrick Movements in the Philippines, Maia has been active in environmental stewardship, disaster management and holistic healthcare.

The experience gathered over the years and the growth of our community culminated in the accreditation of Maia Earth Village into a NGO in 2022, when it became Maia Earth Organization Incorporated.

Maia Earth Organization, Inc.

We are currently working with members of government, NGOS, the indigenous people, medical practitioners to the conversion of an 25-hectare property in Palawan to protected rainforest as well as home settings for deserving local and indigenous villagers who need access to land for their homes and their own backyard gardens.

Here, we hope to preserve nature whilst practicing in small parts, the many programs Maia has been a part of over the years.

The power of Simplicity

Located in Palawan, one of the 7,641 islands in The Philippines, we run two different sites outside urban territory, abundant in natural waters, forests and mountain valleys.

Our facilities run on solar energy and rain water and we host practitioners from many fields and backgrounds who live sustainably in service to the local community.

Operating at local and global range, we are constantly building partnerships with government, private sectors and civil society so as to collaborate to the preservation of land and ecosystems of the island, as well as tend to the needs of its inhabitants.

Aside from home to our residents, Maia Earth is also a training center for Natural Building, Permaculture and Organic Agriculture, Transformation Medicine and Sound, as well as other areas that seem fit to explore when opportunities arise.
